Halloween Tree
If you are looking for a project that is eco-friendly, this is it. This decorative Halloween tree is a fun and easy craft project and all you will need are broken tree branches from your yard or the park.
Start With A Branch
One beautiful sunny Saturday or Sunday afternoon go tree-branch hunting. This can be in your own backyard, or your local park. Find a tree that has a little "character" -- one that is a bit crooked and has some extra "arms" (branches) on which to hang your decorations.
Other Materials You Will Need
construction paper
scissors
ghost and bat cookie cutters to use as templates
glue stick
twist ties, ribbon, or pipe cleaners
for hanging your ornaments1 floral styrofoam squarehollow pumpkin or a flower potold newspaper (for stability)
Instructions
#1. Choose the desired shape of cookie cutter to cut out the decorations. Trace the shape on to construction paper and then cut them out. Make as many shapes as you think you will need.
#2. After all your scary ghosts and bats have been cut, glue them onto squares of contrasting color construction paper.
#3. Poke a small hole on the top of each decoration and slip in the hanging element of your choice. Then hang them on the "arms" of your tree branch.
#4. Now you are ready to place your scary Halloween Tree into the styrofoam you placed into a hollowed-out pumpkin or a flower pot. If necessary, fold up old newspapers and stuff into your pumpkin or flower pot to keep the tree branch steady.
Depending on the size of your "tree", you can place it in your window or out in your garden.
