Window Box

Window box crafts are beautiful for the spring and fall, as well as any time of the year. This little window box will be nice for Mother's Day or Easter.

They can also be used as party favors for a baby or bridal shower.

Children ages 8 and older will have a lot of fun making this craft.

Like many of our projects, this craft project is flexible. You can make this project your own as far as your imagination will take it.

Choose the size base you would like. The craft sticks can be natural or paint the sticks the color of your choice.

Decorate the back ‘fence’ with your own cut out flower shapes or create your own design with glitter glue.

Materials Needed

INSTRUCTIONS

#1. Place the craft sticks one on top of the other against the carton starting at the bottom to decide how high you would like your window box.

Draw a line at the top of sticks to determine the height of the box and cut the box or milk carton across to create the base of the window box.

#2. Using the paint brush, dip into the glue and brush it onto the craft sticks. Place the sticks on the box and hold for a minute until the craft stick stays. Continue until you have the front and back covered with the craft sticks.

#3. Measure the side of the box and cut the sticks to cover the side of the box. Glue craft sticks to the sides of the box.

Lay out additional craft sticks to fit inside the carton. Cut a half-inch strip from the unused box or carton and glue it to the craft sticks about 1/2 inch from the bottom. This will hold the sticks together. Now glue them to the inside back of the box.

#6. Decorate the back craft stick fence with your flower design or use glitter paint or foamies to make your design.

#7. Cut a green pipe cleaner for the flower stem and glue to the bottom of the flower. Finish by gluing pipe cleaners to the edges, add tissue paper to the box and fill it with candy or trinkets.

Your beautiful Window Box is now ready for giving.

This is a great party favor for any event in any season.
